Biography

Laré Birk is a multi-award winning South African actress and director, renowned for her captivating performances in various roles, including Julia in Pulse, Simone in Dominee Tienie, and Michelle in Vir Altyd.

Throughout her illustrious career, Laré has appeared in a plethora of television and film productions, such as Binnelanders, Hoener met die Rooi Skoene, and Axis Mundi, to name just a few.

In 2015, she received the prestigious "Best existing short film" award at the Silwerskermfees for her exceptional direction of Dearest Elle. Furthermore, in 2020, Laré was nominated for "Best female Villian" at the Royal Soapie Awards and "Best short film" for Donker, which she also directed.

After completing her studies in film production at the North West University in Potchefstroom, Laré relocated to Johannesburg, where she launched her career in the entertainment industry, excelling both on and off screen.

As an actress, Laré has had the opportunity to work on numerous film and television productions, while also honing her skills as a director for both television and film. Recently, she has been employed as an art director on various projects.

Currently residing in Johannesburg, Laré continues to work on both local and international productions, solidifying her position as a talented and versatile actress and director in the entertainment industry.
