Biography

Konrad Frey, a renowned gymnast, was born on April 24, 1909, in Bad Kreuznach, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. This exceptional athlete went on to achieve incredible success, particularly at the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin, Germany, where he secured a remarkable haul of medals. Specifically, Frey won gold medals in the parallel bars, pommeled horse, and team all-around, a silver medal on the horizontal bar, and two bronze medals in the floor exercise and individual all-around.

Frey's achievements did not stop there, as he also held the title of German Champion in Men's individual all-around in 1932, 1935, and 1937. It's worth noting that during World War II, Frey served as a sergeant in the German Wehrmacht.

Following his military service, Frey transitioned into a career as a sports and gymnastics teacher. He continued to work in this field until his eventual retirement in 1967. Additionally, Frey was honored as a guest of honor by the West German National Olympic Committee at the 1972 Olympic games in Munich, Germany.
