Koen Van Impe, a Belgian actor, pursued his passion for drama at the prestigious Royal Music Conservatorium in Antwerp.
Throughout his career, Koen has been a member of various theatre companies, but since 2002, he has been an integral part of the Compagnie Marius group, traveling to numerous (mainly French) theatre festivals during the summer.
As a television actor, Koen has demonstrated his versatility by playing a wide range of characters in drama-series, comedies, and crime-series alike. In 2008, he played a significant role in Katarakt, a highly successful drama-series on public broadcaster vrt, directed by Jan Matthys. The following year, he starred in Aspe, a crime series that ran for 10 seasons, during which he portrayed the character of inspector Ivo Verbruggen for three years. In 2011, Koen took the lead in a comedy show, Kiekens, and in 2012, he starred in Salamander, a Flemish drama-series broadcasted on BBC4 and the first Belgian series to be released on Netflix USA.
Koen has also made a significant impact in the world of cinema, starring in notable films such as the Oscar-nominated Daens by Stijn Coninx, Brylcream Boulevard by Robbe De Hert, De Indringer (also known as The Intruder) by Frank Van Mechelen, Ben X by Nic Balthazar, S&M Judge by Erik Lamens, and many more.
In addition to his on-screen work, Koen lends his voice to animated characters for the Flemish versions of movies such as Asterix & Obelix Missie Cleopatra, Lillo and Stitch, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Shark Tale, The Incredibles, Cars, Arthur and the Minimoys, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Kika & Bob, and Despicable Me 1 and 2.
