Prince Albert Edward Wettin Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, born on November 9, 1841, was the second child and first son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Great Britain. As the eldest son, he was destined to inherit the throne upon his mother's passing.
Growing up, Prince Albert Edward was unfavorably compared to his father and older sister, Vicky, who was known for her exceptional intellect. His childhood was marked by a lack of substance, with periods of education and vacation at Osborne House and Balmoral.
At the age of 20, Prince Albert Edward was sent to Scotland for military training, where he experienced his first sexual encounter with Nelly Clifton, facilitated by his friends. Although he kept the affair discreet, his father's friends discovered the truth and informed Prince Albert, who was already suffering from poor health. Prince Albert advised his son to forget the incident, as the consequences of such a lifestyle would be severe.
Tragedy struck soon after, as Prince Albert passed away, and Queen Victoria blamed Prince Albert Edward for the rest of her life. Around the same time, Prince Albert Edward married Alexandra, a Danish princess, whom he met on a blind date arranged by Queen Victoria. The couple had six children together.
Despite being the Prince of Wales, Queen Victoria did not involve Prince Albert Edward in matters of state, allowing him to pursue his own interests. He spent his time drinking, having sex, and socializing with friends. Rumors suggest that he fathered several children outside of his marriage during this period.
In January 1901, Queen Victoria passed away, and Prince Albert Edward ascended to the throne as King Edward VII. He reigned for a short time before his years of excessive drinking and overeating caught up with him, leading to his death at the age of 68 in 1910.
