Kim van Kooten is a talented and versatile individual with a remarkable career spanning multiple decades in the film and television industry. Her journey began in 1995 with a critically acclaimed film debut in ZUSJE, which marked the start of her acting career.
In 1996, Kim made her screenwriting debut with the film BLIND DATE, which received widespread acclaim and won several awards. The film was later remade in the United States in 2007, directed by Stanley Tucci.
Throughout her career, Kim has appeared in numerous films and television series, including the award-winning film PHILEINE ZEGT SORRY in 2003, as well as popular series such as EVELIEN from 2006 to 2007 and HOLLANDS HOOP from 2014 to 2020. She has also starred in the TV movie DE ZITTING in 2021.
In addition to her acting career, Kim has written screenplays for several award-winning films, including MET GROTE BLIJDSCHAP in 2001, which won the Best Scenario award in the Netherlands, and the box office hit ALLES IS LIEFDE in 2007.
In 2015, Kim ventured into novel writing with the publication of LIEVELING, which was longlisted for the prestigious Libris Literature Prize.
More recently, Kim has written screenplays for the highly successful Dutch drama series DAG & NACHT in 2023 and DE VERSCHRIKKELIJKE JAREN 80 in 2022. For the latter, she received the esteemed Dutch Kees Holierhoek Screenplay Award. Kim was also an executive producer and lead actor on both productions.
