Biography

Kevin Lacz was born and raised in central Connecticut, where he developed a lifelong passion for medicine. He enrolled at James Madison University in 2000, but his plans were put on hold after the 9/11 terrorist attacks claimed the life of a close friend's father. Inspired by a Navy recruiter's poster, Kevin decided to leave school and enlist in the Navy with orders for BUD/s training.

He went on to graduate from BUD/s Class 246 and became a Hospital Corpsman, attending 18-D Special Operations Combat Medic School at Fort Bragg. Kevin then checked into SEAL Team THREE in Coronado, California, where he attended Army Sniper school and began preparing for his 2006 deployment.

In 2006, Kevin deployed to Ramadi, Iraq with Charlie Platoon, Task Unit Bruiser, where he worked as a platoon sniper and medic. He conducted numerous sniper over watches, direct action missions, raids, and tribal engagements, contributing to his task unit becoming the most highly decorated special operations task unit since Vietnam.

Kevin's actions during his deployment earned him a Bronze Star with a Combat 'V' and numerous enemy kills. He also braved enemy fire to carry a fallen comrade to safety. In 2008, Kevin returned to Iraq as a member of Delta Platoon, focusing on the Iraqi border with Syria and the interception of foreign fighters.

As a SEAL, Kevin gained extensive experience in Special Operations Combat Medicine, Special Operations Dive Chamber Medicine, Military Free-Fall HALO and HAHO Operations, Long-Range Target Interdiction Sniper work, Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) Training, Battlefield Interrogations, Close Quarters Combat (CQC),Counter-Terrorism Operations, and Naval Special Warfare Lead Breaching Operations.

After completing his enlistment, Kevin was honorably discharged from the Navy and returned to Connecticut, where he enrolled at UCONN and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science in 2011. He then moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to pursue his Masters of Medical Sciences at Wake Forest University, graduating in August 2014 and passing his medical boards.

Kevin is a certified and licensed Physician Assistant and has been involved in several media projects, including Dick Couch's 'The Sheriff of Ramadi', Jim DeFelice's 'Code Name: Johnny Walker', and Chris Kyle's 'American Sniper'. He also contributed to 'American Sniper' through interviews with Chris' coauthor, Jim DeFelice, and was cast to play himself in the Clint Eastwood biopic 'American Sniper'.

Kevin's past military service has a profound impact on his life, and he is actively involved in supporting service members and veterans in his Florida Gulf Coast community and around the country. He is married to Lindsey and has two children.
