Kevin KO, a Taiwanese filmmaker, rose to prominence with a series of short films he created during his college years, including the horror film THE PRINT, which premiered at festivals in Japan and South Korea.
He made his directorial debut with the 2009 slasher-horror film INVITATION ONLY, which pushed the boundaries of good taste in Taiwan cinema with its fast-paced action, graphic violence, and the inclusion of a Japanese adult video actress. The film went on to compete in the PiFan and Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
Kevin KO's short film MY BUDDIES, which he produced, edited, and photographed, earned him a 'best editor' award at the 2011 Taipei film festival. His anarchic parody THE BENDOVER, commissioned by LeTV and produced by Leste Chen, premiered at the Taipei Film Festival in 2013.
In addition to his work in film, Kevin KO has also directed TV commercials for some of Taiwan's top-ranked online-game companies, showcasing his ability to capture characters' emotions and incorporate impressive visual effects. In 2018, he brought his first Mainland Chinese feature, the romantic comedy DUDE'S MANUAL, to the New York Asian Film Festival, where he also served as a jury member.
Kevin KO's feature film A-CHOO, written by famous Taiwanese writer Gidden KO, was released in Taiwan in 2020. The film was a significant milestone in his career, marking his entry into the world of feature filmmaking.
In 2022, Kevin KO directed and produced his masterpiece INCANTATION, which catapulted him to fame in Taiwan and achieved huge commercial success.
