Kerry's inaugural professional stage appearance was in Oliver! at the TheatreRoyal, Drury Lane, marking the beginning of her illustrious theatrical career. She subsequently took on the lead role of Matilda Wormwood in Matilda, a Musical, at Stratford Upon Avon's Courtyard Theatre, where the show's immense success led to its transfer to the West End. Notably, Kerry was the sole original Matilda to make the transition, and her outstanding performance earned her an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Following this success, she appeared in a small role in the film adaptation of Les Miserables, although her part was ultimately cut from the final edit.
In June 2012, Kerry announced her casting as Shireen Baratheon in HBO's Game of Thrones, subsequently filming for the show's 3rd, 4th, and 5th seasons. Her other notable works include her role as the Queen of Years in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary proms, where she performed 'The Rings of AkhÃtan' alongside Alan Clayton at the Royal Albert Hall in July 2013. Most recently, Kerry has been announced to appear in a small role in the BBC's upcoming adaptation of Wolf Hall, starring Mark Rylance, Damien Lewis, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, set to air in 2015.
