Biography

Kenny Chin, a multifaceted individual, was born on April 5, 1951, in Hong Kong, a city that would later play a significant role in his early life and career. At the tender age of 12, he began to cultivate his passion for martial arts, studying various Kung Fu styles, including Choy Li Fut and Eagle claw.

As he navigated his school years, Kenny's interest in acting began to blossom, and he was eventually discovered by a casting agent. This led to his debut as a background actor in numerous Hong Kong films during the 1960s. The allure of the big city proved too great, and Kenny, along with his family, made the bold decision to relocate to New York City.

Upon completing his college education, Kenny embarked on a computer career, taking on the roles of programmer/analyst and part-time Kung Fu instructor at a dojo alongside the renowned Grandmaster Ron Van Clief. The early 1970s saw a surge in martial arts popularity, courtesy of the iconic Bruce Lee, and Kenny seized the opportunity to open his own martial arts schools. His acting aspirations were temporarily put on hold as he devoted himself to his IT career and teaching.

Years later, Kenny's IT consulting career came to an abrupt end, forcing him into early retirement. This unexpected turn of events prompted him to rekindle his passion for acting, and he eventually landed his first paid role as a background actor in the 2005 film The Interpreter, starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn.

Since then, Kenny has appeared in an impressive array of movies and television shows, including principal roles in Coca-Cola and Esurance commercials, as well as print advertisements. His credits also include the comedy Mancation (2012),alongside Joey Fatone, and the 2015 Oscar-winning film Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance),featuring Emma Stone and Michael Keaton.

In addition to his on-screen endeavors, Kenny has secured a recurring role in The Fever (2015),a web-series created and directed by Lorenzo Anderson. As a testament to his dedication to his craft, Kenny is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA.

In his personal life, Kenny is married with two children, and his remarkable journey serves as a shining example of perseverance and the importance of following one's dreams.
