Biography

Kenneth Connor, the son of a naval officer who organized "concert parties", made his stage debut at the tender age of two, and by the time he was 11, he was already performing in both solo acts and doubles acts with his brother in various revue shows. As he grew older, Connor decided to pursue a more serious acting career, rather than simply remaining a revue performer, and attended a professional music and drama school to hone his craft.

After completing a six-year stint in the army, Connor returned to the theater, where he secured a number of roles on stage. Despite his extensive training, however, he found his greatest success in the world of radio comedy, where he developed a talent for voice characterizations. This success ultimately led to his being cast in the first "Carry On" film, and he went on to become one of the regular cast members in the long-running series.

Following the conclusion of the "Carry On" franchise, Connor continued to work extensively in television, achieving another round of success as the undertaker Alphonse in the popular TV series 'Allo 'Allo! in 1982. Unfortunately, Connor's life was cut short when he succumbed to cancer in 1993.
