Sicat's artistic journey began with a deep passion for painting and photography, laying the foundation for his future endeavors in the world of cinema.
Initially, he worked as an editor in documentary television, eventually branching out to feature-length documentaries and narrative feature films, amassing a total of ten features under his belt as a Director, Writer, and/or Producer. His impressive portfolio includes award-winning films such as "Rigodon", "Ka Oryang", "The Guerrilla is a Poet", and "Woman of the Ruins".
As a seasoned professional, Sicat served as a story consultant for the groundbreaking first Filipino computer-generated animated feature film "RPG:Metanoia", which caught the attention of Star Cinema and led to its production. He also took on the role of development head for the Tagalog language anime series "Barangay 143", co-produced by Japan's TV Asahi.
In addition to his work in film, Sicat has also ventured into music videos, collaborating with frequent partner actress-singer Alessandra de Rossi.
Beyond his work in the film industry, Sicat has explored his artistic side through various projects. In 2010, he showcased a video installation at the Lopez Museum, and his art has been exhibited at esteemed institutions such as the Smithsonian Institute. His work has also been screened at prominent venues like San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and New York's Museum of Modern Art.
Throughout his career, Sicat has consistently demonstrated his versatility, creativity, and dedication to his craft, earning him recognition and accolades in the film and art worlds.
