Katherine Cleland, a Montreal-native, is a trained lawyer with a strong background in performing arts. She began her journey in the entertainment industry at a young age, taking to the stage at 14 and showcasing her talents in comedic theatre and musical performances.
Born with a competitive spirit, Katherine was a figure skater and pairs ice dancer, reaching Skate Canada's Senior Level tests and competing in provincial and American competitions from the age of 9 to 15. She went on to pursue her academic studies in law at 18 and was sworn-in to the Quebec Bar at 22, having completed two law degrees and all her schooling in French.
As she delved deeper into the entertainment industry, Katherine discovered her passion for Intellectual Property law, Entertainment law, and film and television production. She completed her legal articling at Canada's most prestigious Intellectual Property firm, Robic, LLP, and gained vast field exposure in the industry, landing roles in television, film, video games, voice work, interviewing, and theatre.
Some of her notable credits include guest-starring roles on CTV's series The Listener and Saving Hope, performing opposite Mischa Barton in the feature thriller Apartment 1303 3D, and playing one of the principal characters in the 70's disco-era flick Discopathe, which received nods at American Cinemateque's BeyondFest, Les Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québecois, and Comic-Conto, among others.
As a legal consultant to production companies, Katherine used her expertise in Media law to navigate the industry. She went on to act as a Content and Development Producer for Bell Media, working on factual television shows and interviewing prominent figures such as the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, and the Mayor of Montreal, Quebec, Denis Coderre.
As a bilingual Montrealer, Katherine has worked on productions in both the Toronto and Quebec markets, including Canadian, American, and European projects. When not immersed in the entertainment industry, she enjoys maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle through running, tennis, and group training, giving back to her elementary school and high school as the youngest member of the Corporation, and learning passed down family traditions in her Italian grandmother's cherished kitchen.
