Kate Katzman, an Irish-American actress, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Bucks County. Growing up, Kate had a different dream than becoming an actress; she aspired to be a veterinarian, driven by her love for animals.
At the age of seven, her family relocated to Palm City, Florida, where she began modeling in high school. Following her college graduation, Kate moved to Miami to further her modeling career. Despite being a shy individual who never considered acting, Kate was introduced to the renowned actor Burt Reynolds by a mutual friend. He encouraged her to try acting and invited her to attend his prestigious master acting classes, where she honed her craft as a theatre actress.
Kate credited Burt Reynolds with helping her break out of her shell, stating, "Burt loved to teach, and he helped me see the tiny things in a script where you could make an impact." She eventually moved to Palm Beach and began working in commercials, featuring in numerous magazines.
Kate made her film debut in 2015, playing Walt Disney's wife, Lillian, in the indie film "Walt Before Mickey." Her other notable credits include "This is the Year," "Santa in Training," and the neo-noir drama "Adverse," opposite Mickey Rourke, Sean Austin, Penelope Ann Miller, and Lou Diamond Phillips, which is set for release in January 2021.
Her latest project is the co-starring role of movie director Megan Albert in "The Comeback Trail," alongside Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, and Morgan Freeman. Directed by George Gallo, the film was shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is scheduled for release on November 13th of this year.
Kate is a farm girl at heart, often returning to her family home whenever possible. She is married to Dr. Scott Katzman, an orthopedic surgeon who has been performing cutting-edge, minimally invasive spinal surgery in Florida for many years. The couple has two young children, and in her free time, Kate enjoys traveling the world with her family.
