Karina was born in the vibrant city of Barranquilla, Colombia, and from a young age, she had a natural inclination towards music, dance, and singing. As a child, she would enthusiastically try to play any instrument she came across, and her love for music only grew stronger as she grew older. Her father, noticing her passion, gifted her her first guitar when she was just 7 years old, and she began to learn how to play and sing at school. This marked the beginning of her musical journey, and she wrote her first song when she was just 11 years old.
As she entered her teenage years, Karina's love for music only intensified, and she began to perform in every event she could, honing her skills and building her confidence. After completing her education, she decided to pursue her passion for music and law simultaneously, enrolling in both music school and law school. She graduated from EMAS (Escuela de Música Alvin Schutmaat) and completed the 5 basic years of law school.
At the age of 20, Karina's talent and dedication earned her a spot as a finalist on Popstars from Caracol TV Colombia, and she began to model and sing more professionally. This newfound passion led her to Miami, where she modeled for renowned designers and performed every week singing at one of the most prestigious private clubs in Miami Beach. It was during this time that she created her famous Karaoke nights and had the opportunity to sing for big stars like Gloria and Emilio Estefan, John Mayer, Jennifer Aniston, Bon Jovi's band, and others.
Karina's love for acting also grew stronger, and she took numerous acting lessons with renowned coaches like Hector Zabaleta, Carlos Perez, Adriana Barraza, Stewart Solomon, and Lori Wyman. Her career began to take off when she was called to be on Model Latina for SITV in Los Angeles and other productions for Telemundo, Venevision, and Mun2 TV.
Her breakthrough role came when she was booked for a speaking scene in the movie Iron Man 3, where she worked alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Kingsley, released in 2013. This marked the beginning of a successful acting career, and Karina has continued to work on various projects, solidifying her place in the entertainment industry.
