Karl Lentini's filmmaking journey began at the tender age of fourteen, when he started experimenting with his father's super-8 film camera. After completing his education at Boston University's esteemed film school, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he honed his skills by working on various film and television productions. Not only did he gain experience in the industry, but he also pursued his passion for music, writing songs and playing the guitar at local venues throughout the city.
For the next decade, Karl worked in post-production, serving as a film and digital projectionist, as well as a sound recordist, at NT Audio in Santa Monica. During this time, he also found success with his short film comedy, "A Boy and his Sock", co-written by Matthew Porter. The film received critical acclaim, screening at the prestigious Dam Short Film Festival in Boulder City, Nevada, and the Sydney Underground Film Festival in Sydney, Australia.
Karl's feature film debut, "Cleaver's Destiny", was a labor of love that he wrote, produced, directed, co-edited, acted in, and scored. Although it had a limited theatrical run in Los Angeles, the film garnered a 2014 PRISM Award nomination and won Honorable Mention at the 2014 VOICE Awards.
In addition to his work in film, Karl has collaborated with fellow actor and writer Charles Gorgano on over 30 country songs. One of their songs, "Whiskey and Wine", was featured in the motion picture "Honey Jar". In 2018, Charles and Karl were honored with a Gold Remi Award at the Worldfest-Houston International Film & Video Festival for their dramatic original screenplay, "My Cryin' Heart".
