Kandi Barbour, a stunning brunette, was born Kandie Lou Dotson on February 15, 1959, in Russellville, Alabama, to Albert Edens Dotson and Annie Louise McKinney. Growing up in Dothan, Alabama, she attended Girard Junior High School from 1972 to 1974.
Her journey to fame began in the 1970s, when she was discovered by photographer Diana Hardy. Kandi's early career involved posing for popular men's magazines, leading to her first public recognition in the late 1970s.
As a teenager, Kandi started performing in explicit hardcore movies in 1978, appearing in over 30 X-rated features before retiring from the adult film industry in 1984. Her impressive portfolio also included loops, exotic dancing, and modeling in ads and TV commercials for K-tel International.
Kandi resided in both Los Angeles, California, and Hawaii, where she worked at the renowned Honolulu strip club, Club Hubba Hubba. Her remarkable career earned her a spot in the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2009.
Tragically, Kandi was found dead from exposure on the streets of San Francisco, California, on January 18, 2012.
