Justin has been a leading figure in the Australian horror and science fiction film industry for numerous years, serving as the founder and owner of special effects company Wicked of Oz Studios. With over fifteen years of experience as a top Special Effects Makeup Designer, Art Director, and Production Designer, Justin has had the privilege of working on big-budget American productions alongside renowned directors such as George Lucas, who is best known for his work on the Star Wars franchise.
In addition to his work on big-budget productions, Justin has also had the opportunity to work on a variety of other projects, including the family-friendly film Charlotte's Web and the crime thriller The Bank Job. His extensive experience and expertise in the field of special effects have earned him recognition and respect within the industry.
In 2012, Justin decided to focus his unique creativity and know-how on directing his first feature film, Crawlspace. In addition to his usual roles as Production Designer and Makeup Effects Designer, Justin also wrote, directed, and produced the film, surrounding himself with a talented team of artisans and professionals who had worked with him over the years.
Justin's enthusiasm and passion for his work are evident in everything he does, and his visual work has been recognized internationally. He has been brought on to co-produce the science fiction TV show Hunters, which is produced by Gale Ann Hurd, a legendary producer who has worked on a variety of successful films and television shows, including Aliens, The Terminator, The Abyss, and The Walking Dead.
In 2019, Justin returned to the director's chair for his second feature film, a supernatural vampire movie set in World War 2 called Blood Vessel. The film has gone on to win awards at multiple festivals and has gained a cult following among fans of the festival circuit.
