Justin Carmouche was born on October 11, 1999, and his love affair with entertainment began at a remarkably young age. By 2006, he had already discovered his passion for the spotlight after starring in his elementary school musical, noticing that everyone left the performance with a smile on their face. This early experience sparked a realization in Carmouche, just seven years old at the time, that entertaining people was what he wanted to do when he grew up.
As he grew older, Carmouche's creative endeavors continued to flourish. At the age of thirteen, he began directing and editing films using his iPod touch, and by fourteen, he had borrowed his dad's camera to shoot his first narrative short film with his childhood best friend Roman Armstrong. The positive feedback from the audience not only boosted Carmouche's confidence but also encouraged him and Armstrong to establish their own production company, where they continued to produce short films.
Carmouche's big break came at the age of fifteen when he auditioned for a Netflix movie and landed the role of Zev August in "Class Rank." This success marked a significant turning point for Carmouche, as he realized that even as a small-town boy, his big dreams were within reach with hard work and determination.
In 2017, Carmouche created his critically acclaimed short film "I'm Starving," which premiered on national television and reached a massive audience of millions. The film's success was further solidified when it was nominated for "Best Screenplay" at the All-American High School Film Festival. Carmouche and his business partner Armstrong attended the festival in New York City, where they represented their film and watched it on the big screen at the AMC movie theater in Times Square.
The film's success did not go unnoticed, as a Hollywood producer was so impressed that she flew Carmouche and Armstrong to Atlanta to work on the film "Shaft." At just seventeen years old, Carmouche was given the opportunity to work alongside legendary film director Tim Story, a valuable experience that helped him grow both personally and professionally.
As he entered adulthood, Carmouche continued to work tirelessly in the film industry, eventually moving to New Orleans to serve as a production assistant. His strong work ethic and genuine personality earned him the opportunity to work as a personal assistant for several high-profile clients, including Adam Sandler's wife and daughter, Grammy award-winning singer Lizzo, and actor Taylor Lautner.
In 2020, Carmouche launched his lifestyle clothing brand and media network, DOBETTER, which aims to inspire people to become the best version of themselves. He is currently directing and producing a sports docu-series that follows a boxing prodigy's career in real-time as he attempts to become one of the youngest world champions in boxing history.
Throughout his career, Carmouche has directed over seventy-five independent film projects, working with major companies such as Netflix, Warner Bros, and Hulu, as well as collaborating with superstars like Adam Sandler, Jamie Foxx, and Samuel L Jackson. Despite his many accomplishments, Carmouche remains humble and dedicated to his craft, continually striving to perfect his skills and leave a lasting legacy in the world of film.
