Julia Solomonoff is a renowned Argentine filmmaker residing in New York, recognized for her outstanding work in both short and feature films that have garnered numerous awards at international festivals. Her debut feature, "Hermanas", gained significant attention after participating in the Sundance Lab, Berlinale Talent Campus, and premiering at the Toronto Film Festival. Additionally, her film "The Last Summer of la Boyita", co-produced by Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar, won over 20 international awards, including the Prix de la Jeunesse at the Cannes Film Festival.
Solomonoff's subsequent feature, "Nobody's Watching", received widespread critical acclaim, winning the Best Actor award at the Tribeca Film Festival and the Condor Award for Best Screenplay. The film was also praised by critics from The New York Times, Village Voice, and The Guardian, earning it a spot as a Critic's Pick.
In addition to her feature film work, Solomonoff has also ventured into television, directing documentary series such as "Aerocene Pacha", "Parana, biography of a river", and fiction series "The Suitor", based on a story by Julia Alvarez, for PBS. Most recently, she executive produced, showran, and directed the 10-episode series "15 an hour" for Paramount+.

In addition to her work in film, Solomonoff has also taught at various institutions, including NYU Tisch Graduate Film Department, Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College, and Columbia University. She has also served as the Chair of the NYU Tisch Graduate Film Department, where she teaches directing. Solomonoff has received several accolades, including a Fulbright Scholarship and the DGA Best Latinx Student Filmmaker Award.
