Biography

Judith Lee Bamber, a stunning blonde bombshell, was born on October 13, 1936, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to a mixed German-English and American Indian family. Her father, an engineer at the Ford Motor Company, played a significant role in her early life. Judy's journey in the modeling industry began while she was still in high school, aiming to improve her posture and lose weight.

After graduating from Dearborn High School in 1954, she moved to Detroit to pursue a full-time modeling career. It was during this period that she met television announcer Frank Robinson, whom she would later marry. In 1955, Judy relocated to Los Angeles, California, and took on various jobs, including working as a carhop, laundry clerk, babysitter, and dishwasher, before her modeling career gained momentum.

Judy briefly owned her own modeling agency and worked with the J.C. Penney catalog. She then transitioned to live commercials and was eventually discovered by Nils Thor Granlund, who connected her with drama coach Joe Graham. Judy attended Warner Brothers Acting School and secured contracts with both Warner Brothers and American International Pictures, although these contracts were later terminated due to the studios' discovery of her manager's actions.

Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Judy acted in a limited number of films and television series. Her most notable role was as the sassy and obnoxious Alice in Roger Corman's cult classic, A Bucket of Blood (1959). Judy was also a popular pin-up girl of the era, gracing the covers of and/or being featured in various men's magazines, including "Modern Man", "Vue", "Glamor Parade", "Gaze", "Snappy", "Male Point of View", "Caper", and "Gala".

In addition to her modeling and acting career, Judy was a featured cover model on several albums. On September 13, 1962, she gave birth to her son, Louis I. Judy eventually quit acting and modeling to focus on raising her family.

In 1967, she married Douglas W. McClary and had her second son, Brooks S., on November 18, 1971. McClary passed away at the age of 72 in 2004, and Judy remarried the following year. Judy currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
