Juan C. Bofill is a renowned expert in the field of stunts and special effects, boasting an impressive array of skills and training across multiple disciplines. With a staggering 44 years of experience in the art of Goju Ryu Karate, he holds the esteemed title of certified 7th-degree black belt, having traveled the world and competed in numerous tournaments, earning him the distinction of 3x world-renowned martial arts champion.
Beyond his impressive martial arts credentials, Juan's extensive knowledge is further augmented by his studies in other disciplines, including Aikido, Kobudo/weapons, Iaido/swordsmanship, Jui Jitsu, and Judo, in which he has earned a 4th-degree black belt. This broad range of expertise has culminated in his exceptional abilities in the art of fighting and fight choreography.
Juan's professional journey began in the early 1990s, when he launched a successful stunt business alongside his 24-year career as a Commander in the police department. During his tenure, he earned a master's degree in criminal justice, served 16 years in S.W.A.T, and acquired numerous instructor certifications in defensive tactics, tactical driving, firearms, explosives, AR15/M16, and sniper training, to name a few.
Following his retirement from police work, Juan redirected his focus to the world of stunts and special effects, working on a variety of TV shows and feature films, including Miami Vice, CSI Miami, Burn Notice, Bad Boys, and Iron Man. Leveraging his creative talent and vision, he eventually transitioned behind the camera, taking on roles as a writer, producer, and director.
