Joy Shatz is a rising star in the entertainment industry, known for her versatility and talent in both comedic and dramatic roles. Born and raised in New York, Joy began her career at the tender age of ten, singing and dancing in Times Square as part of the kids chorus in Broadway on Broadway.
She later attended the Atlantic Theater Company Conservatory and trained in improv and sketch comedy at Upright Citizens Brigade. Joy's big break came when she created and starred in the mockumentary comedy film Wild Woman, which she wrote, directed, produced, and played 13 different characters in.
Wild Woman was an official selection at nine film festivals and earned Joy multiple awards, including Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking at the Williamsburg International Film Festival and Best Actress at the Long Island International Film Expo and the Long Beach International Film Festival.
Austin Revolution Film Festival named Joy "Actress of the Year" for her work in Wild Woman, while Long Island's Scared for Your LIIFE Film Festival recognized her as "Best Actress" for her dramatic performance in Karen. Joy also played the title role in The Improviser, a film about a sheltered, bookish young woman who gets a rude awakening.
