Joshua Newton is a renowned British filmmaker, having made a name for himself in the industry through his impressive body of work. As a teenager, he was already demonstrating his passion for filmmaking by running his school's film unit, where he wrote and directed several thriller and horror shorts that showcased his talent and creativity.
After completing his studies in law, Newton went on to work with British movie mogul Lord Grade as Assistant to Producer Albert Fennell on the Barbara Cartland Movies of the Week Series, which was produced at Pinewood Studios for CBS. This experience laid the groundwork for his future success as an independent writer, director, and editor.
Newton's most notable achievement to date is his work on the revenge thriller "Justice / Vengeance", also known as "Iron Cross", which he wrote, directed, and produced. The film starred the late Roy Scheider, a two-time Academy Award nominee known for his iconic roles in "Jaws", "The French Connection", and "All That Jazz". "Justice / Vengeance" won Newton the Visionary Filmmaker Award at the Boston Film Festival in 2010, and it also received one of two awards at LA's the Museum of Tolerance International Film Festival that year. The other award was given to Clint Eastwood for his contributions to promoting tolerance, justice, and human rights through his work.
Newton has also been working on his screenplay "The Framing of O.J.Simpson", which is now in pre-production. He has spent two years extensively researching the subject matter, demonstrating his dedication to creating a high-quality and accurate film.
