Joseph Vassallo is a multifaceted individual with a passion for acting, writing, and producing. His journey in the entertainment industry began at the age of 13, when he visited his father on the set of Midnight Express and discovered the magic of cinema.
Vassallo's early years were marked by a series of moves across Europe, where he lived in Switzerland, Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles. During this time, he honed his language skills, becoming fluent in English, Italian, Maltese, and conversant in Swiss German and Spanish.
After college, Vassallo moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting and theater. He later settled in Los Angeles in 1987, where he trained at the Stella Adler Academy and Joanne Baron / D.W. Brown Studio. He also earned a coveted spot as an observer at The Actors Studio West under the supervision of the legendary Shelley Winters.
Vassallo's stage career flourished, with performances in eleven stage plays. He then transitioned to the screen, starting with a Royal Caribbean commercial in the early '90s. He went on to appear in over 100 national TV commercials, including a notable campaign for Twix that won the Gold Award at the New York Film Festival.
Vassallo's on-screen credits include films such as Blankman, The 4th Tenor, Just Married, and Our Family Wedding, as well as television shows like The West Wing, Alias, Diagnosis Murder, and My Wife and Kids. He has shared the screen with Hollywood greats like Damon Wayans, Rodney Dangerfield, Ashton Kutcher, Brittany Murphy, and Forest Whitaker.
Beyond acting, Vassallo has worked as an Executive Personal Assistant to a Hollywood A-Lister and has thrived behind the scenes. He was a writer on ABC's My Wife and Kids and served as Vice President of Way Out TV, collaborating with Damon Wayans on multiple projects. He also earned a Film School degree in Los Angeles and expanded into technology as COO of AKABE5, a game and utility app curator.
In recent years, Vassallo has taken on new challenges, including the prestigious role of Enzo Ferrari at Ferrari Land in Barcelona, Spain. He is set to appear in a Netflix mini-series "From Scratch" and the Paramount Plus show 'The Offer', while actively developing a slate of feature films and television projects of his own.
