Jose Vicuña is a renowned figure in the Spanish film industry, having played a pivotal role in shaping its landscape over the past several decades. He is the creator of Impala, a company that has produced over 100 films directed by some of Spain's top directors, with a collection of 65 film negatives, many of which are considered classics.
As President of Warner Española, a company in partnership with Warner Bros, Vicuña was responsible for distributing all Warner Bros products in Spain for over 30 years. He also served as President of Warner Home Video in Spain for 10 years. In addition, he was Vice President of Incine, where he was involved in the distribution of Twentieth Century Fox's films between 1970 and 1988, as well as distributing films from Columbia, Disney, and PolyGram during that time.
Vicuña's extensive experience in the film industry also includes being a member of the Board of Cinesa, Spain's leading theatrical chain, as well as the Board of Warner-Lusomundo Theaters. He co-founded Cinepaq with Canal+ France, which later merged with Idea, a company belonging to the Prisa Group, to form Sogepaq. As President of Sogepaq, Vicuña played a crucial role in financing many of Spain's top box office films over the past 20 years, as well as creating the largest modern catalogue of Spanish feature films.
