Jordan Rudess, a virtuosic keyboard player, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, was born on November 4, 1956, in the affluent and densely populated suburban town of Great Neck, located in the state of New York, on the East Coast of the United States of America.
As a prominent figure in the music industry, Rudess has had a storied career, with one of the most notable highlights being his tenure as the keyboardist for the renowned progressive metal band Dream Theater, a position he has held since 1999.
Prior to joining Dream Theater, Rudess collaborated with the band's guitarist, John Petrucci, and drummer, Mike Portnoy, along with the accomplished bassist, Tony Levin, who is also a member of the iconic rock band King Crimson, in the instrumental progressive group Liquid Tension Experiment.
