Biography

Kurt Richards, a renowned character actor, was initially known in Hollywood as Jonathan Kidd, after a producer suggested he alter his stage name.

Throughout his illustrious career, Richards appeared in an impressive 16 Broadway productions, including the iconic shows "Anastasia", "Come Back Little Sheba", "My Sister Eileen", "King Lear", "A Streetcar Named Desire", "Hamlet", "Julius Caesar", and "Burlesque".

Upon transitioning to Hollywood, Richards changed his name and secured roles in notable films such as "Wink of an Eye", "Macabre", "Can Can", "The One and Only Genuine, Original Family Band", and "Operation Eichmann".

Additionally, he was billed as Kidd in several prominent TV series, including "Perry Mason", "Sea Hunt", "Mannix", "Rawhide", "Dr. Kildare", and "General Hospital".

Tragically, Richards passed away after undergoing surgery for an aorta aneurysm, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable performances. He was 73 years old when he succumbed to his illness on December 15, 20**, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
