Biography

Jonathan Duffy is a creative producer, Independent Spirit Award Winner, and co-founder of Ten Acre Films. His most recent work includes the upcoming feature film WHAT HAPPENS LATER, starring Meg Ryan and David Duchovny, as well as a presently unannounced feature film and Rod Lurie's THE SENIOR, which is currently in post-production.

Jonathan's recent releases include Rob Connolly's BLUEBACK, which premiered at TIFF 2022 and Sundance 2023, and MARK, MARY & SOME OTHER PEOPLE, which won the jury award at Tribeca 2021. He has also produced NO FUTURE, which premiered at Tribeca 2021, and I USED TO GO HERE, which premiered at SXSW 2020. Additionally, he produced the short film RULES FOR WEREWOLVES, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2020 and is being developed into a feature film.

Jonathan has a long history of producing films that have premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, including LIGHT FROM LIGHT, SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, which won the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature in 2019, THE LONG DUMB ROAD, HELLION, BEAVER TRILOGY PART IV, and his first feature, PIT STOP, which was nominated for the Independent Spirit Awards' John Cassavetes Award in 2014. He has also produced a number of Sundance short films, including THE SEND-OFF and DON'T BE A HERO.

In addition to his work at Sundance, Jonathan has produced a number of films that have premiered at SXSW, including 6 YEARS, 1985, and the jury award-winning films THE SUPLEX DUPLEX COMPLEX and A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG.

Jonathan is an executive producer on the Sundance-supported film STRANGER WITH A CAMERA, which is currently in post-production. He has also executive produced THE SOUND OF SILENCE and co-executive produced BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, both of which premiered at Sundance in 2019. He executive produced the award-winning film BUOYANCY, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2019.

Jonathan is a producing mentor for the Stowe Story Labs and has participated in a number of producing programs, including the 2018 Rotterdam Producing Lab, the 2016 Cannes Producers Network, the 2015 Sundance Producing Summit, the 2015 Catalyst Program, and SFFILM's inaugural Producers Fellowship. He graduated from the film program at The University of Texas at Austin.
