Jonathan T. Baker, also known as JB, is a multifaceted individual with a career spanning multiple fields. He is an independent filmmaker, adjunct professor, and artistic coach. His company, JB Productions, Inc., has partnered with various artists, and he is a member of the prestigious Producer's Guild of America.
Prior to his current endeavors, JB worked at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he held positions in television research and marketing. He successfully marketed over 40 major theatrical releases, with 10 of them achieving the coveted #1 spot at the box office. JB's notable productions include documentaries such as Fang vs. Fiction, The Real Exorcist, and Real Premonitions, as well as films like Closer, Adaptation, Big Fish, Boogeyman, Underworld, In The Cut, You Got Served, the Resident Evil franchise, and Exorcism of Emily Rose.
In addition to his work in the film industry, JB has also ventured into the world of finance, working on Wall Street at Salomon Brothers Asset Management in Institutional Sales. He has also had a stint on Broadway, handling development and line producing for the Nederlander Producing Company of America, where he worked with legendary acts such as Billy Joel, The Rolling Stones, Dionne Warwick, Neil Young, and Paul Simon.
As an adjunct professor, JB teaches feature film and entertainment economics at Carnegie Mellon's Masters of Entertainment Industry Management program in the Heinz School of Public Policy and the GIOCA graduate program at the University of Bologna, Italy.
Throughout his educational journey, JB has studied musical theatre at The Boston Conservatory of Music and The University of Michigan School of Music. He has also honed his skills in directing and acting through the University of California, Los Angeles Extension Program, under the guidance of renowned instructor Don Richardson.
