Jon Robin Baitz, a renowned playwright, was born in 1961 in Los Angeles, California, and spent his formative years in Brazil and South Africa. Throughout his illustrious career, Baitz has written numerous plays, including "Other Desert Cities", "The Substance of Fire", "A Fair Country", and "Ten Unknowns", all of which have been produced at the esteemed Lincoln Center.

In addition to these notable works, Baitz has penned "The Paris Letter", "The Film Society", "Mizlansky/Zilinsky", and "Three Hotels", as well as a fresh adaptation of Ibsen's classic drama, "Hedda Gabler". His impressive body of work has garnered significant recognition, with Baitz being the recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation Award, a Drama Desk Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
