Jon Miguel, a multifaceted individual, was born and raised in New York City and the surrounding tri-state area. His insatiable thirst for physical and mental challenges has been evident since childhood.
As a young boy, Jon discovered his passion for the performing arts, often watching cartoons and memorizing dialogue, then acting out the scenes. He even dreamed of becoming a cartoon voice-over artist when he grew older. His adventurous spirit was evident from a young age, as he would push his Little Tikes car down the sidewalk and jump on the hood or back of the car while it was still in motion.
At the age of 10, Jon began studying Hwa Rang Do, and his love for martial arts was instantaneous. He went on to learn various styles, including Kempo, where he started winning first-place trophies. Jon later transitioned to Wushu, studying under the tutelage of Grandmaster Hu Jianqiang, a two-time all-around Wushu Champion. He won gold medals in both China and the United States, and even had the opportunity to perform for the legendary Jet Li.
Despite his interest in film and acting, Jon found it difficult to find Asian role models in American cinema, which led him to pursue a degree in illustration at the University of Connecticut.
In college, Jon discovered his passion for drifting cars, challenging himself on mountainous roads, especially in rain and snow. This skill eventually led him to become a certified stunt driver. Encouraged by a friend, he took a drama class, where his teacher praised his stage presence and cast him in a play. Jon went on to land roles in various films, sometimes wearing multiple hats in a production.
In 2010, Jon won CastingsNClasses' 6th Anniversary contest in NYC for a video he created, which led him to move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He was featured in Backstage Magazine for his accomplishments. Since then, Jon Miguel has been involved in various projects, including feature films, stunts, and television shows.
Throughout his career, Jon has been recognized for his work in the Action on Film Festival for his roles in Ground and Pound and Saving Sara. He has also appeared in feature films such as Avengeance and Syndicate Smasher, as well as the television show Sons of Anarchy.
