His early years in the entertainment industry were marked by appearances in several Off-Broadway stage productions in the early 1970s, showcasing his versatility as a performer.
Before transitioning to the adult entertainment industry, Martin also received a formal education at San Francisco State University. His professional journey took an unexpected turn when he was laid off from his position as a switchman and locomotive engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad.
