Biography

Jon F. Merz is an American author and actor residing in Massachusetts, with a rich and diverse background that has shaped his multifaceted career.

After graduating from Boston Latin School in 1988, Jon pursued his academic interests at UMass/Boston, where he majored in Japanese and East Asian Studies, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.

Prior to his literary and acting pursuits, Jon served in the United States Air Force, dedicating several years to protecting the nation and its interests. Following his military service, Jon transitioned to the private sector, where he utilized his skills to safeguard Fortune 500 clients and conduct sensitive corporate investigations for prominent financial services companies.

Throughout his life, Jon has been an avid martial artist, earning his 5th degree black belt in Togakure-ryu Ninjutsu, a prestigious honor bestowed upon him by the 34th Grandmaster of the discipline in Japan on February 16, 2003.

In his personal life, Jon is a devoted husband and father of two teenage sons, who share his passion for fitness and outdoor activities. When not working on his novels or acting projects, Jon can be found engaging in CrossFit, GORUCK endurance challenges, and other physical pursuits.

Jon's commitment to his craft is reflected in his motto, "Who Dares Lives," a philosophy that guides him in his personal and professional endeavors.

As an author, Jon has published over 40 novels, 20 novellas, and numerous short stories, including the popular Rogue Angel adventure series for Gold Eagle/Harlequin. His first novel, The Fixer, was published in 2002 by Pinnacle Books/Kensington.

In addition to his literary accomplishments, Jon has also ventured into the world of modeling and acting, making his debut in 2014. Since then, he has appeared in various commercials, the mini-series The Cars That Made America (2017),and will soon be seen playing the role of Mr. Olsen, Chloe Grace Moretz's father, in the forthcoming sci-fi thriller Mother/Android from Miramax.
