Johnny Coffeen is a Cuban-American filmmaker with a notable career trajectory that began with his role as Assistant Editor on the critically acclaimed film Short Term 12, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the renowned SXSW festival.
As part of his academic pursuits, Coffeen's master's thesis film, The Swan Girl, made its world premiere at the prestigious Festival Of Disruption, founded by the enigmatic David Lynch. This significant achievement was further recognized when the film received a Student Academy Award in 2016.
Coffeen's impressive body of work continued to grow as he went on to direct The Circle Game and The False Mirror, showcasing his versatility and range as a filmmaker.
