John Rozelle was born on September 25, 1976, in Houston, Texas, where he was raised in an educated, entertainment-driven home. Early in life, he moved to New York to attend acting school, where he honed his craft under the direction of Allan McCloud and Brian Frankenstein at the Upright Citizen's Brigade.
He also attended The Playhouse West under the guidance of Tony Randall and The Actors Company with Daniel Probert and Joe Salazar. John's passion for music was sparked by his grandfather, who introduced him to country music, which he soon developed into a love for R&B and pop music. This musical appreciation led him to explore his creative side through drawing, poetry, and writing music.
At the tender age of 8, John had the opportunity to meet The Jacksons during their Victory Tour, which sparked a lifelong friendship and ignited his passion for the entertainment industry. He began competing in local talent shows throughout Houston and New York, as well as performing at block parties, house parties, and community centers, showcasing his talents to anyone who would listen.
John drew inspiration from his surroundings, but it was his friendship with Darryl "GI" Jackson from the group H-Town in 1987 that left a lasting impression on him. He also credits the Jack the Rapper Era, where he met Jodeci for the first time, as a significant influence on his writing and love of music.
John's extensive resume includes background dancing and singing with friends Corey aka Sub-0 and Jesse Powell, as well as developing long-lasting relationships with Eddie Williams and Tupac Shakur, who taught him the art of writing music and composing poetry.
