John Francis, a native of Newport, Pembrokeshire, Wales, embarked on a journey to become a school teacher at the esteemed Reading University Department of Education. He subsequently honed his craft by teaching in several London schools before pursuing a three-year classical training at the prestigious L.A.M.D.A. (London Academy of Music and Drama).
Throughout his illustrious theatre career, John has had the privilege of sharing the stage with esteemed actors such as Robert Flemyng, Lindsay Duncan, and Anthony Head in a production of Julius Caesar at Riverside Studios, London. He has also appeared alongside David Ryall in King Lear at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, UK, and alongside Ian McKellen and Tom Bell in Bent at the Royal Court/Criterion, London.
John's extensive repertoire also includes various roles in Under Milk Wood at Mayfair Theatre, London, as well as the lead role of Morgan Evans in The Cornish Green opposite Annette Crosby at Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, UK. He has also had the distinction of playing Eddie in Steven Berkoff's Greek, which earned him a Drama Critics Circle Award in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.
In addition to his stage credits, John has appeared in various productions, including Rowley & Careless in The School For Scandal at Skirball Centre, Los Angeles, and Davies in The Caretaker at the Actor's Company, West Hollywood.
Most recently, John had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Mathew Rhys (The Americans) and Kate Burton (Scandal) in a production of Under Milk Wood at the James Bridges theater in L.A., which was also recorded for NPR radio.
