Biography

John Soursby Glover, Jr., is a renowned American actor, recognized for his versatility in portraying a wide range of villainous characters in both film and television, with one of his most notable roles being Lionel Luthor in the Superman-inspired television series Smallville.

In 1993, Glover co-starred alongside Steve Buscemi and Ned Beatty in the dark comedy Ed and His Dead Mother, showcasing his acting prowess in a diverse range of genres.

Born in Salisbury, Maryland, Glover is the son of Cade (née Mullins) and John Soursby Glover, Sr., a television salesman, who played a significant role in shaping his interest in the entertainment industry.

Glover attended Wicomico High School, where he honed his acting skills, and later pursued higher education at Towson University.

His early career in the entertainment industry began at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, where he refined his craft, and later, he further developed his acting skills under the guidance of renowned acting coach Milton Katselas at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

In addition to his illustrious acting career, Glover is also actively involved with the Alzheimer's Association, a cause that holds a special place in his heart, as his father struggled with Alzheimer's disease.
