Biography

John Andrews is a multifaceted creative force, boasting a diverse range of skills as a producer, writer, and actor. His impressive resume includes a stint as MTV's Vice President of Animation in the mid-1990s.

Andrews' time at MTV was marked by his significant contributions to several notable series. In 1992, he was hired to produce the groundbreaking show Beavis & Butt-Head, and subsequently oversaw development and production for other MTV hits, including Daria, Aeon Flux, and Oddities: The Maxx & The Head, serving as Supervising Producer.

In addition to his work on television series, Andrews co-produced the feature film Beavis & Butt-Head Do America and managed MTV's in-house animation studio. His tenure at MTV came to a close in the middle of 1997, when he left to become the Executive Producer of Commercials and Special Projects at Klasky Csupo, a position he held for 12 years.

In 2011, Andrews joined 6 Point Media, a division of animation studio Six Point Harness, as Executive Producer and Creative Director. Five years later, he transitioned to DreamEast Pictures, a Beijing-based company, where he served as Executive Producer and oversaw the development and production of the original series Valt the Wonder Deer.

Andrews' extensive experience in the industry also includes producing animated segments for the Mandarin-language feature The Lady and the Tiger in 2017. In 2019, he joined House of Cool, a Toronto-based company, as its LA-based Executive Producer.

Before his time at MTV, Andrews worked at Alvin H. Perlmutter, Inc. from 1996 to 1992, where he won three Emmy Awards as a producer on the PBS series Adam Smith's Money World. He also consulted on various projects for Bill Moyers and produced animation for IBM's Creative Spirit series.

Andrews' journey in television began in 1984 at Luminous! Productions, Inc., where he produced graphics packages for Showtime and The Movie Channel. Throughout his illustrious career, Andrews has demonstrated his versatility and dedication to the world of animation and production.
