Joey's journey began in Houston, where he spent his formative years. As he entered his teenage years, he developed a passion for singing, which he showcased at church services, school talent shows, and family gatherings. His innate desire to perform in front of an audience was evident, and he would often put on shows for anyone who would watch.
Joey's father played a significant role in nurturing his musical talents, passing down the family's musical gene. This led to him being offered a vocal scholarship to Loyola University in New Orleans, which he attended after graduating from high school. During his time at the university, Joey was actively involved in various choral concerts, vocal recitals, and Mardi Gras celebrations.
After completing his studies, Joey set his sights on Manhattan, where he enrolled in a musical theater academy. He then paid his dues by working in regional theater and bus and truck tours. As he continued to hone his craft, Joey decided to focus more on his acting career, which eventually led him to secure a manager and a commercial agent.
Joey's breakthrough came when he landed his first voice-over gig as a rapper. Since then, his work has spanned various mediums, including voice overs, commercials, stage productions, film, and television. His family is incredibly proud of his accomplishments, particularly his ability to play a wide range of antagonist roles.
Today, Joey resides in New York City, where he continues to work and pursue his passion for acting.
