Joel Potrykus

Joel Potrykus, a renowned American writer and director, makes his home in the vibrant city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a key member of the esteemed filmmaking collective, Sob Noisse, he has the privilege of working alongside his trusted collaborator, the talented Joshua Burge. Potrykus's cinematic endeavors have garnered significant attention, with his films premiering at the prestigious SXSW Film Festival and the renowned Locarno Film Festival. Furthermore, his work has been showcased at esteemed institutions such as the Lincoln Center and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa). In addition to his creative pursuits, Potrykus also dedicates his time to imparting his knowledge and expertise to the next generation of filmmakers, serving as a professor of filmmaking at Grand Valley State University.
