Joe's passion for acting began when he was just eight years old, but it wasn't until he enrolled in an acting class at Long Beach City College that he truly pursued his dream.
After taking that initial class, Joe was hooked and decided to forego his plans to attend Long Beach State University, instead opting to study for three years at The Inner City Cultural Center in Los Angeles under the guidance of Artistic Director C. Bernard Jackson.
During his time at The Inner City Cultural Center, Joe appeared in a wide range of plays, taking on diverse characters and honing his craft. It was also at Inner City that he had the opportunity to work with a young George C. Wolfe, performing in two original productions written by Mr. Wolfe.
In addition to his stage work, Joe was a part of the touring company for C. Bernard Jackson's award-winning adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello, Iago.
As Joe transitioned from the stage to screen, he discovered a new appreciation for the technical aspects of filmmaking, likening it to a dance that requires coordination and precision. He enjoys the challenge of working with lights, cameras, and fellow actors to create a seamless performance.
Currently residing in Bothell, WA, Joe looks forward to taking on more interesting and diverse roles in both theater and film.
As he reflects on his career, Joe notes that the beauty of acting lies in its ability to never require retirement, as there is always a role available, regardless of age.
