Person biography:
J.J. Jamieson is a veteran of multiple TV networks, studios, and independent production, known for his passion and creativity. He has created, developed, sold, produced, supervised, and/or written various television programs, including movies, series, limited series, mini-series, documentaries, specials, and reality shows for broadcast, basic cable, premium cable, and streaming services.
As Head of Scripted for Scripps National Networks, Jamieson oversaw all original scripted programming, including the development and production of successful series such as ACT YOUR AGE, JOHNSON, FINDING HAPPY, and MIND YOUR BUSINESS. He also wrote and produced two TV movies for Bounce, including the highest-rated TV movie to date, GREYSON FAMILY CHRISTMAS.
Jamieson has worked as an executive, writer, and producer, developing and selling scripted series projects for cable and broadcast networks. He has created and executive produced TV shows for CBS, TBS, Lifetime, and Hallmark, among others. As a writer-producer, he has written and co-written various TV shows and movies, including an unscripted reality series for MTV and a 2-hour documentary special for Turner.
Jamieson began his career at NBC as a Page, working his way up to become a creative executive overseeing hit projects in various genres. He has also taught screenwriting, creative producing, and visual storytelling as an adjunct professor at Columbia College and Chapman University's film school. He has delivered lectures on "The Ten Commandments of Pitching" and "TV Overview...with Props" at colleges and universities in the United States and abroad.
Jamieson graduated with Honors from Dartmouth College and has a Citation for Excellence in English. He lives in Santa Monica, CA with his wife, TV producer/executive Tana Nugent Jamieson.
