Jin Au-Yeung, known as MC Jin, was born and raised in North Miami Beach, Florida. His parents, who immigrated from Hong Kong, had hopes of starting a family and providing their children with an opportunity to chase the American Dream. Jin's childhood aspirations were unconventional - he wanted to be a rap star.
At a young age, Jin fell in love with rap music and Hip-hop culture, emulating his favorite MC, LL Cool J. He spent years making demo tapes, participating in talent shows, and working with managers with pipe dreams.
