Biography

Jimmy Hibbert, born James Christian Hibbert on July 15, 1949, in Windsor, Berkshire, England, is a talented individual with a multifaceted career spanning both acting and writing.

As the eldest of three children, Hibbert grew up in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, alongside his younger brother, the late music journalist Tom Hibbert, and his author parents, Christopher Hibbert and Susan Hibbert.

After pursuing a degree in drama at the University of Manchester, Hibbert met CP Lee and Bob Harding, and together they formed the band Alberto y Lost Trios Paranoias in 1972. Hibbert took on the roles of vocalist and bassist, and the band enjoyed a successful run until its disbandment in 1982.

In the meantime, Hibbert began his voice acting career with the Milk Marketing Board, impressing audiences with his rendition of Ian Dury. This marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career in voice acting for animation, with notable roles in Count Duckula, The BFG, Noddy's Toyland Adventures, Frankenstein's Cat, and Little Red Tractor.

Beyond his work in animation, Hibbert has made appearances on British TV programs and films, including Coronation Street, What the Papers Say, Cold Feet, The Grand, Medics, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Prime Suspect, Children's Ward, Wipe Out, Floodtide, Room at the Bottom, The Practice, Teach Yourself Gibberish, and Bloody Kids.

In 1977, Hibbert took to the stage at London's Royal Court Theatre and Roundhouse, starring in the Albertos' musical play Sleak as the lead character, Norman Sleak.
