Biography

Here is Jimmy Bain's biography:

Jimmy Bain, born on December 19, 1947, is a Scottish bassist, best known for his work with Rainbow and Dio. He has also played with other notable bands such as Thin Lizzy, Wild Horses, and World War III.

Bain began his music career in the 1970s, playing in various provincial amateur bands as a teenager. He later joined Harlot, a band that would eventually become Wild Horses, and toured Europe with John Cale.

In 1976, Bain joined Rainbow, recording the studio album "Rising" and playing on the subsequent world tour. He also appeared on the band's first live album, "On Stage". However, in 1977, he was sacked from the band.

Bain then formed Wild Horses with guitarist Brian Robertson, drummer Clive Edwards, and guitarist Neil Carter. The band released two albums, "Wild Horses" and "Stand Your Ground", before disbanding.

In the 1980s, Bain worked with Phil Lynott, co-writing songs for his solo albums. He also played keyboards with Lynott's band and toured with him. In 1983, Bain joined Dio, the band founded by Ronnie James Dio, and co-wrote several of their most successful songs, including "Rainbow in the Dark" and "Holy Diver".

In the mid-1980s, Bain founded Hear 'n Aid, a charity organization that aimed to raise awareness and funds for world hunger. He also co-wrote the song "Stars" with Vivian Campbell and Ronnie James Dio, which became a hit single for the charity.

In the 1990s, Bain formed World War III with vocalist Mandy Lion and released one album. He also worked on his solo project, The Key, which featured a more melodic and commercial sound.

In the 2000s, Bain reunited with Ronnie James Dio for the Dio project, Magica, and played on the albums "Magica" and "Killing the Dragon". He also worked with former Black Sabbath and Dio drummer, Vinny Appice, on the projects The Hollywood All Starz and 3 Legged Dogg.

In recent years, Bain has continued to tour and record music, including work with the band Last in Line, which features Viv Campbell, Vinny Appice, Claude Schnell, and Andrew Freeman.
