Jill "Sixx" Gevargizian is a multifaceted creative force from Kansas City, Missouri, with a rich background in both filmmaking and hairstyling. For over a decade, she has honed her skills as a hairstylist, a profession that has also influenced her work as a director and producer.
Gevargizian's journey into filmmaking began at a young age, when she would pick up her father's camcorder and start experimenting with storytelling. This early passion project eventually blossomed into a career in the film industry.
In 2012, Gevargizian took the initiative to bring independent horror films to her hometown by establishing a monthly showcase called Slaughter Movie House, which she still runs to this day. This platform has allowed her to connect with like-minded individuals and share her love for the genre.
In addition to her own projects, Gevargizian has worked on various films outside of her own, including ABCs of Death 2, where she served as the second-unit director for a segment, and Frankenstein Created Bikers, where she acted as an assistant director.
Gevargizian's directorial debut, the short film Call Girl, featured a talented cast, including genre favorites Laurence Harvey and Tristan Risk, and was released in 2014. Her subsequent micro-short, Grammy, was distributed by CryptTV in 2015.
Her feature-length debut, The Stylist, premiered in 2016 and has gone on to achieve significant success, screening at numerous genre film festivals worldwide and winning 17 awards, including the Jury Award at Etheria Film Night and Best Performance in a Short (Najarra Townsend) at Fantastic Fest and Monster Fest.
Notable cast members in The Stylist include Najarra Townsend, who has appeared in films such as Contracted.
