Jessie's early life was marked by significant events, including her parents' divorce when she was just three years old. She and her older sister, Joanne, were subsequently raised by their father, James, who now operates a pub in Essex. Jessie's grandmother, also named Jessie, played a crucial maternal role in her life, and her passing seven years ago left a lasting impact.
Jessie's parents have since remarried, with her mother, Annette, having a third daughter, Danielle. Jessie's educational journey was non-traditional, as she left school at the age of 15 and held various jobs before moving to Portugal at 21 to work in a string of bars. After returning to the UK, she decided to pursue a career as a professional make-up artist, completing a two-year course at the College of East London and securing a job with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
However, Jessie's true passion lay on the stage, and she secretly auditioned for acting courses after her first day on the job. Although she didn't initially secure a spot at RADA, she was accepted into the Poor School's two-year course. Due to scheduling conflicts, Jessie had to quit the course, but she began working as a wig maker to supplement her income.
After completing her course, Jessie landed an audition for a small role in EastEnders, although she didn't ultimately secure the part. However, producers immediately thought of her for the role of Kat in the new Slater family, and she was given the part. Today, Jessie resides in Epping in a flat, where she shares her life with her shih-tzu, Bailey.
