My name is Jesse H. Knight, and I am a seasoned filmmaker with an impressive career spanning over two and a half decades. I have been actively involved in the filmmaking industry since 1995, when I first made a film during the Filmmaking Summer Immersion Program at the North Carolina School of the Arts.
After completing my Broadcasting and Cinema Masters Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, I continued to create films, refining my skills and building a reputation as a talented filmmaker. Today, I am the proud owner of Jesse Knight Films, a business I established in 2009.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including commercials, documentaries, short films, music videos, live events, and feature films. One of my music videos was even featured on MTV's Headbangers Ball, and a short film I worked on was picked up by Revolt, Sean "P-Diddy" Combs' network. My latest project, a feature film called Kill Giggles, is set to be released and features me as Executive Producer, Cinematographer, and Editor.
My artistic sensibilities were nurtured by my mother, a talented painter and artist who has had a profound influence on my work. Her impact is evident in my attention to composition, value, and color, and I often draw inspiration from art, including styles such as German Expressionism, Flemish, Dutch, and Italian painting.
As a cinematographer, I strive to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, incorporating the principles of design and the elements of art into my work. I believe that the study of image is essential to creating compelling and effective films.
My fascination with motion pictures began at a young age, thanks to my father's introduction to me of legendary filmmakers such as Akira Kurosawa, Stephen Spielberg, Coppola, Scorsese, Lucas, and Kubrick. This exposure instilled in me a deep appreciation for the power of storytelling through image and a desire to create my own visual masterpieces.
As a filmmaker, I am a product of my influences and hope to inspire others with my work.
