Person Biography:
Jerry is a native Chicagoan who has made a name for himself in the film industry. His first film, "Solstice", was broadcast nationally as a Lifetime original movie in 1994. Jerry attended Columbia College in Chicago, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in film.
After moving to Los Angeles in 1996, Jerry spent 10 years working in film and television, operating his boutique editing studio Nitestar Productions at the historic "Crossroads of the World" on Sunset Boulevard. He returned to Chicago in 2007 and now works on projects between his hometown and Los Angeles.
Jerry's credits include a wide variety of projects, including commercials, music videos, documentaries, short films, and episodes of the History Channel series "Gangland". He is currently the Chicago City Producer of the world-renowned 48 Hour Film Project.
Jerry has worked on numerous projects, including documentaries on the Chicago Cultural Center Tiffany Dome and the historic Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House, as well as editing programs for WTTW on the Adler Planetarium and "An Evening with Valerie Simpson in Tribute to Nick Ashford".
He has also produced, directed, and edited music videos, such as "Burlington Northern" and shorts like "Chicago Heat", "Superforce 5", "Inside America", "The Dark Knight Project", and "Clonely". "The Dark Knight Project" was honored with 4 Stars from Film Threat, and "Clonely" was awarded a judge's award in the Chicago Region 48 Hour Film Project.
Jerry's projects in Los Angeles included editing DVD featurettes for films like "Primeval", "The History Boys", and "Turistas", as well as directing the 48 Hour Film project "Protected!" for Bliss Productions. He has also worked on various TV shows, including "Breaking In", "Made in Hollywood", and "Hollywood Hold 'Em".
Jerry has also directed short scenes, including "Blue World" for the HBO Project Greenlight competition and "The Great Houdini", written by Stacy Tanner. His first film, "Solstice", was awarded the Silver Award by the Charleston International Film Festival, the Bronze Award by the Houston International Film Festival, and was broadcast again by Lifetime Television on Christmas Eve of 1995.
Jerry's theatrical directing credits include "The Great Houdini" and "Witnesses", an action-adventure co-written with Victor H. Schiller.
