Jeremiah Tauamiti, a talented individual of Kiwi-Samoan descent, embarked on his professional journey as a camera operator, his early work featured in the film Fresh. As his skills and passion for filmmaking grew, Tauamiti transitioned into directing, creating a portfolio of impressive shorts, including Maria and Liliu.
Tauamiti's collaborative spirit led him to team up with other creatives, resulting in the formation of the esteemed 48 Hours Film Festival team Goodfellas, who have consistently demonstrated their exceptional abilities by being perennial award contenders.
Beyond his directing work, Tauamiti has also explored acting, lending his talents to several short films, such as The Promise of Piha and My Friend Michael Jones.
In 2019, Tauamiti co-directed his first feature-length documentary, For My Father's Kingdom, alongside his partner Vea Mafile'o. This powerful documentary premiered at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival and tells the story of Mafile'o's Tongan father, Saia, a testament to Tauamiti's dedication to telling meaningful and impactful stories.
